At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $112,900 and $188,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Summary

Here within the Finance organization at Apple, we work with an immense amount of financial data that can be difficult to compile and present in a meaningful way. With so many eyes on the performance of our company, it is imperative that we have the best tools and processes to quickly dissect, utilize, and analyze all of our data accurately so that we may provide Apple’s senior leadership with the right information to make sound decisions. We need someone who can help build these tools that will drive decisions made at the highest levels. We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to design, maintain, and innovate database solutions for Corporate FP&A. These solutions will be utilized to automate heavy manual or forecasting processes, expedite the production of time-sensitive deliverables, and be the source of interactive and dynamic analytics and visualizations. This person will work within the Data Analytics team to use the database, a customized front-end web tool, design UIs, Tableau workbooks, and our standard methodologies in order to replicate such solutions for our business partners. We are eager to find an Analytics Engineer who can quickly acclimate himself/herself to different areas within Finance and then provide quick and workable solutions towards building or improving our tools and analytics.

Description

The role involves identifying the data needs of Corporate FP&A partners and providing solutions. These solutions will revolve around automating lengthy calculations, building dashboards, designing web-app UXs, and other process-improvement activities. Solutions will be built using SQL, Tableau, Python and other resources available. The qualified candidate will be able to apply the appropriate tool(s) for the identified solution.

The qualified candidate will be the bridge between finance and data teams. The individual must be able to collaborate and coordinate between teams to deliver projects in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant Data Engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive SQL knowledge and experience
  • Highly proficient in Tableau and Excel
  • Tableau Server and System Design experience a plus
  • Python experience a plus
  • UI Design experience a plus
  • Proven fundamentals in P&L forecasting, budgeting, FP&A concepts
  • Able to communicate technical issues effectively with finance partners and business needs with technical partners
  • Able to conceptualize long-term strategy for technical and scalable solutions and independently drive the success of a project
  • Able to continually challenge the status quo process and ensure continual benefit & efficiency via automation
  • Proactive problem solver, encouraged to present problems and recommendations simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality around product launches, corporate forecasts and other critical initiatives
  • Extremely curious; is not satisfied with easy or convenient answers; drives issues to root cause
