Salary

The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Our data team works closely with fellow engineers, data scientists, and a variety of other teams to build best-in-class data platforms for AI/ML that adhere to Apple’s highest principles of privacy and security. We are seeking an energetic and dedicated analytics engineer to analyze data and extract insights needed across the organization with the purpose of improving the platforms used for health research and development. This includes the data collected from the Apple Research app. The longitudinal research studies we launched are helping Apple improve existing health experiences with our products, as well as create new ones. As a member of our fast-paced group in Apple's Health Research Applications, you will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to shape the systems that allow our products to delight and inspire millions of Apple’s customers every day.

Description

You will be at the forefront of using data to validate, improve, and shape the direction of a best-in-class platform for doing health research. The position requires a self-motivated engineer with strong technical and communication skills to handle responsibilities including:

  • Analyze large amounts of data to extract useful insights the organization needs.
  • Create reports for a variety of use cases.
  • Identify new analytic projects or enhancements to existing ones.
  • Update existing data model to better serve analysis needs.
  • Support data consumers by answering questions or providing guidance.
  • Influence the evolution of the data platform.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Programming skills in one of Python, Scala, or Java.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark), data warehouses (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake), and modern orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Oozie).
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with engineers, QA, data scientists, clinical staff, and others.
  • Analytical skills (including handling ambiguity and presenting results).
