Senior Analytics Engineer - Remote

What is your superpower?
- Design scalable data models optimized for analytics
- Develop and maintain analytics code using dbt and BigQuery
- Monitor and troubleshoot analytics code
- Maintain a high level of quality in software through automated testing, profiling, and debugging
- Partner with data scientists, product managers and engineering teams to understand analytics and reporting requirements
- Understand the business model, the key metrics (how they’re defined and calculated) and how metrics are used to drive decision making
- Ensure all data assets are well documented from schema level descriptions to architecture and documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve data analytics systems and processes
What we are seeking:
- High level of empathy and humility
- Experience working with healthcare datasets and domain knowledge of common healthcare data types such as clinical, claims, pharmacy, EHR, genomic, etc.
- 3-5 years experience as an analytics/data engineer or similar role
- Proficiency with dbt
- Extensive experience with SQL
- Experience with cloud platforms like Snowflake, GCP or Azure
- Experience with modern business intelligence tooling like mode analytics, looker, tableau
- Experience building and optimizing data warehouses
- Proven experience with data modeling (dimensional modeling, star schema, etc.)
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Nice to have:
- Understanding of healthcare data privacy regulations such as HIPAA
- Experience implementing secure and compliant data pipelines for sensitive healthcare data
- Knowledge of tools and technologies commonly used in healthcare such as FHIR, HL7, claims,etc. is a plus
- Experience or interest in value-based care, alternative payment models or population health
