The Role
Bitly is looking for an Analytics Engineer who is passionate about data, analytics, and business intelligence. Our Business Intelligence team believes in the power of information, and we work hard to make data available and actionable by everyone in the company. As an Analytical Engineer, it will be your job to design and build our data warehouse, maintain dbt models feeding this warehouse, become an expert on Bitly’s massive data sets, and assist analysts in answering critical business questions.

This role reports to the Director of Business Intelligence on the Business Intelligence and Analytics team.
What You'll Do
- Design and build dbt data models to ensure that relevant data is available in the data warehouse for dashboards and analysis.
- Analyze data when building data models to identify data quality issues
- Monitor data models to ensure data is loaded into the data warehouse every day. Correct issues preventing data from being loaded.
- Create and maintain documentation on dbt models, data assessment, and other data work
- Create, maintain, and adjust testing for all data processes
- Assist business analysts with questions as needed.
- Care deeply about enabling all employees at Bitly to do their best work.
Who You Are
- 3+ years of experience as a data or analytics engineer.
- You are fluent in dbt and familiar with reverse ETL tools such as Census. You also stay up to date with ongoing changes and advancements.
- Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Familiarity with at least one cloud SQL platform, such as BigQuery or Redshift.
- Experience creating or maintaining a data warehouse.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical background.
- Comfortable supporting business analysts on high-priority projects and investigations.
- You take initiative in addressing issues or seeking support from fellow team members.
- You have experience using a flavor of version control—we use Git and GitHub to collaborate and manage pull requests.
