Sr. Cyber Analytics Engineer

We are looking for a savvy data visualization and metrics professional to join our growing team of analytics experts. You should be proficient in using Tableau and other BI tools to create new and update existing reports. You should have experience with traditional and modern technologies, such as relational databases, Snowflake, Python, Databricks, REST API, Git, Shell scripting, and AWS.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and optimizing Tableau visualizations that are used by our business customers and internal leaders. You may be asked to create, maintain and optimize our data delivery and extraction from multiple data sources into our data warehouse.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies
- Developing dashboards (using Tableau or QuickSight) for various audiences that reflect technology and cyber risk profiles, risk trends, as well as residual and emerging risks.
- Building data pipeline frameworks to automate high-volume and real-time data delivery to our cloud platform
- Developing insights using Machine Learning technologies to inform storytelling and decision making across Cyber
- Effectively communicate the impact of operations, compliance, and cybersecurity gaps to multiple audiences, encouraging remediation activities to enhance their cybersecurity posture
- Building relationships with stakeholders across Cyber to gather requirement and generate new/improved value streams using data and insights
- Leveraging cybersecurity knowledge to suggest appropriate cybersecurity metrics or build data models that reduce risks
The Ideal Candidate will be:
- An excellent communicator at various levels, able to develop and speak to code and also translate logic to leadership
- Comfortable with Technology. You are advanced in Python and SQL, and you are constantly exploring new open source tools.
- Data Wrangler. You know how to programmatically extract data from a database and an API, bring it through a transformation or two, and model it into human-readable form (ROC curve, d3 visualization, Tableau, Redash, Kibana, etc.).
- Data Understander. You are able to understand how data flows, pick up patterns, and share this knowledge with customers.
- Cybersecurity Focused. You are interested in being able to tell stories from cybersecurity data to help leaders make decisions on protecting against attacks.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 4 years of experience using database management tools (SQL)
- At least 3 years of experience using relational database systems
- At least 3 years of experience creating visualizations with Tableau or other business intelligence tools
- At least 2 years of experience scripting in Python and interacting with APIs
- At least 2 years of experience building Machine Learning frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field
- 3+ years of Data Engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience with cyber security data
- 2+ years of experience delivering Data Governance and Data Quality Management concepts and practices within the financial services industry
- 2+ years of experience utilizing and developing within AWS services
- 1+ years of experience with AWS services
