Senior Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities:

The data platform team at Character seeks to accomplish the following:

Provide high quality data for analytics and model training (pre/post-training)
Remove the accidental complexity of Data Engineering tasks to empower ML Researchers, SWEs, and Data Scientists to move as quickly and confidently as possible.
Make data go vroom while gpus go brrr

The particular focus for the Senior Analytics Engineer will be to make our Data Warehouse and Data Lake a joy to use by our Data Scientists, Analysts and Product teams. Work with key stakeholders from these teams to ultimately deliver data and product insights that positively impact business decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

Use your dimensional modeling skills and eye for data quality, consistency, and integrity to easily query and draw insights.
Work with our product team and data scientists analyze the success of new features, machine learning improvements, AB tests, and overall user experience.
Collaborate with the data platform team to ingest and clean new sources of data.
Create and maintain ELT workflows with dbt, BigQuery, and Trino to support product and machine learning teams
Automate manual processes and optimize internal/external data delivering pipelines using Airflow, Metaflow, or similar

Job Requirements:

5+ years of experience designing, building, and optimizing data warehouses, data pipelines and/or data architectures at large scale with significant experience in a consumer-facing technology company
Advanced knowledge of and significant experience with DBT, SQL, and query optimization
Demonstrated experience partnering and collaborating with internal business stakeholders and engineering teams to meet the data needs of the business.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to conceive, design, and implement new features that enhance user experience.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Superset or Looker.
