Sr. Lead Analytics Engineer, Smart Restaurant
The Smart Restaurant Team in the Production Design engineering organization exists to care for Team Members and Operators by using systems and data to improve production in our restaurants.
As our production equipment continues to become smarter and more connected, we have the opportunity to begin using newly created data to derive insights and drive action at both the corporate and individual restaurant levels. The Sr. Lead Engineer role will require someone who has both strong analytical skills and an ability to work cross-functionally with technical engineering teams. The main goal of this role is to leverage the data created from connected equipment to add business value to Chick-fil-A. While working inside of the Smart Restaurant Team strategy, this role will require the expertise to work with a wide latitude for independent direction and decision making freedom to determine how best to accomplish our goals.
This role will be expected to plan and direct work independently and provide technical leadership and consultation to co-workers. This role is also expected to be an influencer within Chick-fil-A, helping to inform and influence work across the organization through the insights they create and through meaningful working relationships.
We are looking for an individual who is able to clarify and improve our IoT equipment data strategy, verify the accuracy of data, mine it for useful insights, create meaningful reports, and communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across our organization. This may also include selecting or overseeing external partnerships to achieve these goals.
Responsibilities
- Explore data from emerging data streams such as IoT equipment sensors, camera vision, and voice
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Drive underlying data systems improvement by working with key cross-functional stakeholders
- Perform data quality validations to ensure data creation is as per the business needs and expectations
- Establish baselines, develop measures/targets to enable improvements to overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), quality, and/or productivity
- Design and develop reports using data visualization software
- Create and maintain IoT messaging specifications for existing and new connected equipment
- Provide technical leadership and assistance to internal and external partners
- Serve as a subject matter expert for this data across the organization
- Clarify and improve our IoT equipment and systems data strategy
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in broad knowledge of technical platforms and analytical methods
- 3-5 years of experience cleansing and preparing large, complex datasets for analysis
- 3-5 years of proficient experience in large data set mining tools such as open-source programming tools (Python), data visualization tools (Tableau), statistical software (R), database languages (SQL), or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data from internet-connected (IoT) devices or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) connected equipment
- Excellent communication skills -- ability to present complex information in a concise and compelling manner
