Our Data team's goal at Collectors is to facilitate the use of trusted data to support key decision making. This is done through the ingestion, processing, and dissemination of relevant data to key cross-departmental stakeholders. The main functions within the team can be split into three major groups: Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science.

As an Analytics Engineer with our Data Analytics & Insights team, you will have high ownership and influence on the data team practices. You will be playing a key role in building, developing and maintaining our new and core data platform, while using the latest technology in the modeling data stack. What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a leader on our team for our standards for data modeling
  • Understand our data needs, design and implement batch data extraction processes, model data and write data transformations
  • Ensure that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, and secure
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to identify use cases for data reporting and dashboarding and implement new pipelines and reporting functionalities
  • Train users on data capabilities and best practices

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
  • Highly experienced with dbt and applying the best practices of software engineering to data transformation is required
  • Experience with “modern data stack” type tools for data warehousing, data extraction, data transformation, and workflow orchestration
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and have a strong working knowledge of software engineering workflow tools such as version control and testing
  • You have a proven ability to model data for reporting and analytics needs
  • Experience with at least one modern BI Tool (Looker, Mode, Metabase, Preset, Lightdash, etc) is a bonus!
  • Opinionated on the future of the metrics layer is a bonus!
  • You have experience with or a strong interest in the analytical side of data, e.g. collecting requirements, defining and implementing metrics, developing dashboards

The salary range for this position is $127,876 - $207,611
