Solutions Architect
Salary
Salary: $180,000-230,000 OTE
Your role as a Solutions Architect on the Commercial team is to help prospects understand the value that dbt Cloud will provide to their organization. To achieve this, you will lead technical discussions with prospective customers, uncover their data challenges, and showcase how dbt Cloud can address their needs through live demos and technical workshops.
In post-sales you will be responsible for continued relationship building to ensure your customers’ ongoing success and identify opportunities for expansion.
Internally, you will help our team as we continue to build out our processes and playbooks and act as the voice of the customer to ensure that we continue to build product that solves real problems and delights our customers.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Spend the majority of your time working on pre-sales opportunities in order to understand their use cases and identify the value that dbt Cloud can bring to their organization
- Consult with potential customers to understand their data challenges and identify opportunities for dbt Cloud to alleviate their pain and help them achieve their goals
- Own the technical aspects of a sales opportunity, providing technical expertise and delivering demos of dbt Cloud tailored to the unique needs of potential customers
- Collaborate closely with your Account Executives, building strong trust-based relationships and providing strategic input on deal processes
- Act as the ongoing technical QB on your post-sales accounts to ensure they are successful in their journey to utilize dbt Cloud
- Maintain ongoing relationships with technical contacts in your accounts
- Identify opportunities for expansion in larger accounts and flag risks in accounts that may churn or contract
- Work with the team to improve the way we work together, be the voice of the customer in product discussions, and participate in other cross-functional activities
- Participate in the knowledge loop helping to improve our processes and assets and enabling others on the team
- Create and deliver external facing content through live events, blog posts, recorded tutorials, or other content
You are a good fit if you have:
- 3+ years of sales engineering, solutions architecture, or as a data practitioner
- A solid technical background, with a firm understanding of modern data warehousing architectures, the modern data stack, and SQL proficient
- Worked asynchronously as part of a fully-remote, distributed team
- High degree of comfort presenting to various stakeholders or audience, ideally with experience in an externally facing role
- Ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment and think on your feet when engaged in customer conversations
- Desire to be part of a team, both as an active member of the SA team as we continue to evolve and improve how we work, and in your day-to-day work with Account Executives as part of a deal team
- Openness to travel. While we work in a remote first company, we value the power of in-person relationship building, both internally and externally, so a willingness to travel to external and internal events is required.
You'll have an edge if you have:
- Prior dbt experience, bonus points for dbt certification
- Basic python competency and advanced SQL knowledge
- Proven experience in a pre-sales tech role
- Experience with traditional ETL tooling
