Analytics Engineer
As a member of our Data Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure and approach to analytics. Our team is in a transition period, as we grow and evolve as an agency, and rethink how we collect, report, and analyze data. Working closely with our Data Analytics Manager, you will use your technical expertise in PostgreSQL, Python, QuickBase, and Tableau to create innovative analytics solutions that advance equity, innovation, and quality in the District of Columbia's public charter schools.
This role is a blend of a data analyst and analytics engineer, and as such, you will be responsible for both analyzing data and collaborating with data engineers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data. You will be responsible for data visualization and analysis, designing and maintaining databases, developing data pipelines, and creating automated processes for data transformation and analysis.
As we develop a revised accountability framework to better evaluate school quality, your work will be particularly critical. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on education in our community as our Analytics Engineer, and you'll be joining a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about using data to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
We're seeking a highly adaptable individual who is comfortable with change and iteration, ideally with experience in an organization working to improve their data systems. The ideal candidate will have a critical eye and be a collaborative problem-solver.
We're looking for someone with a passion for using data to drive positive change in education. You should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytics-related field, with proficiency in SQL, Python, QuickBase, Tableau, and GIT. You should also be comfortable working with large datasets, cleaning and manipulating data, and creating data visualizations that tell a story.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with end-users and technical teams. You should be detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. While a degree in computer science, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or a related field is preferred, we value work experience in analytics-related fields and will consider candidates with equivalent work experience.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference by serving the learners of the District of Columbia.
