Senior Analytics Engineer
We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our growing team. The primary mission of the Enterprise Data team is to enable the availability and reliability of data across the enterprise to support Elastic’s strategic objectives by driving how data is defined, consumed, delivered, and governed.

What You Will be Doing
- Build out of scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines resulting in Certified Datasets that enable the analyses, insights and visualization of business critical initiatives throughout the organization
- Collaborate with business partners (Sales, Finance, Marketing, etc.) to understand, scope and develop new company wide certified datasets/models
- Enable and coach consumers of data, helping them use new datasets drive decision making and optimization of our business
- Assist in modeling Key Performance Indicators for visualization that drive operational and strategic success.
- Maintain and communicate analytics and engineering-related standards and best practices.
- Work closely with Analytics teams, Data Science, Data Engineers, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
What You Bring Along
- 5+ years relevant work experience (Data Modeling/Analytics, Data Management, Kimball Dimensional Modeling, Data Engineering)
- Ability to be agile, proactive and comfortable working in ambiguity; think creatively to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems
- “Bilingual” having a strong foundational understanding of both the functional (business) needs and the analytics/technology
- Ability to lead various data initiatives, with a “customer-focused” mentality
- Ability to think creatively coupled with strong analytics and problem-solving skills
- Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support business decision making
- Understanding of and appreciation for the nuances in data landscapes, business applications and processes
- Experience leading enterprise wide data projects, structured and unstructured, joining large and complex data sets
- Expertise in the following tools: SQL (writing and analyzing complex queries), Data Build Tool (dbt), Tableau/Power BI (defining data models and measures), Alteryx (willingness to learn). Python knowledge a plus
- Familiarity with data sourced from common ERP and CRM systems including: Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, etc.
- Machine Learning and Predictive Modeling experience is a plus
- Self-motivated, pragmatic and get-it-done mentality
- Strong teammate, adept at operating across different functions/teams and levels in the organization
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
The typical starting salary range for this role is $113,100—$178,940 USD.
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is $135,900—$215,050 USD.
