Sr. Analytics Engineer, Paid Media

The Predictive Analytics team at Hasbro is responsible for analytics in the domain of Paid Media, which includes all of Hasbro’s spend on digital and broadcast media. The data ecosystem is complex and we are seeking a team member to help build a clear picture of how well our media is working.

  • The fundamental responsibility of this role is to curate the team’s Data Products for the domain of Paid Media and to deploy tools that deliver those products to the business at scale.
  • The Sr. Analytics Engineer keeps a defined list of stakeholders, meets with them regularly, and makes contracts with them about what the team will provide and how it will be used. When gaps in our data are identified, this role evaluates and engages with vendors to fill them.
  • Analytics Engineers are empowered to build the products the business needs for themselves in our Azure/Databricks ecosystem using SQL and software engineering best practices enabled by dbt, git, and Github Actions. They work closely with our supporting Data Engineering team, specifying requirements for the ingestion and processing of new data sources in an Agile setting.
  • This role will also be responsible for managing outsourced media mix modeling programs for our top markets and brands, ensuring that the vendor is supplied with the data they need and that our media teams and agencies take action based on the recommendations of the model.
  • This is an IC role, but it will be supported by e.g. outsourced analytics engineers whose workstreams will need to be managed.
  • In addition to the stakeholders for the Paid Media domain, the wider Predictive Analytics team works together each week to learn new tools, techniques, and share knowledge in a collegiate atmosphere that keeps skills and ideas fresh.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Overall 7+ years of experience working as an analyst or similar role
  • Experience working with data from digital marketing platforms including Facebook Marketing and Google Ads
  • Proficiency writing SQL to transform data for analysis
  • Proficiency with a major BI tool like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker
  • Experience recovering well-formed engineering specifications in Jira from ill-posed or naïve stakeholder requirements
  • Experience running media mix modeling programs through outsourced vendors. Familiarity with offerings of major vendors, such as Ipsos MMA, ideal.
  • Experience summarizing trends and key points from advertising data for a lay audience
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in statistics, mathematics, or other analytical field
