Analytics Engineer II
The Analytics Engineer is a part of the division ITG organization of HCA. This technically focused position within the division ITG team is responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying our business intelligence solutions across the enterprise. This goal will be achieved by working with cross-functional business teams and utilizing relevant development platforms (such as PowerBI). Analytics Engineer is responsible for application creation, administrative tasks, and supporting dashboard and report solutions development. The Analytics Engineer will collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Project Managers, provide leadership regarding reporting and BI, as well as support and develop subject matter knowledge for reporting within the necessary solutions created. The Analytics Engineer will ensure the effective design, build, deployment, documentation and maintenance of reports against relational and multidimensional databases to support end-user processes
• Working knowledge of health industry data standards.
• Ability to apply fundamental concepts and principles gained through experience to solve both straightforward and moderately complex problems.
• Technical knowledge of analytics engineering and BI development and deployment.
• Actively participates in application design sessions.
• Basic programming knowledge, preferably in a dynamic language such as Clojure, Python or R. SQL development experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the agile process.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Technical aptitude to learn and adapt to new industry applications and tools.
• Treats change and new situations as opportunities for learning or growth.

What qualifications you will need:
• Experience in data acquisition, data cleansing and parsing preferred.
• Experience in data analysis, modeling and visualization preferred.
• Experience with a business intelligence platform (e.g., PowerBI, Qlik, MicroStrategy) preferred.
• SQL experience desired.
• Knowledge of a formal development language (e.g., Python, R, JavaScript, Ruby, Scala, or Clojure) desired.
• Experience in the areas of data structures and data warehousing preferred.
• Experience using a distributed version control system (DVCS; e.g., GitHub, TFS) a plus.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment a plus.
• ETL experience a plus.
• Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1+ years of professional experience preferred.
