Job Summary and Qualifications
Department Introduction:
- The ITG Field Operations department is responsible for the development and implementation of HCA’s division and facility programs as well as the expansion of business processes and performance related to HCA's local strategies.
- The person hired to this position will develop dashboards and data models within the ITG division and learn the subject-matter necessary to develop and implement identified requirements as they relate to local projects and initiatives defined by business leaders.
- This role will support division and facility reporting needs, ad hoc reporting, report configuration, and report distribution throughout the organization. This role will be responsible for creating ad hoc and standard reports per local project or operational expectations.
Job Summary: Primary Purpose of the job
The Analytics Engineer II is a part of the division ITG organization of HCA. This technically focused position within the division ITG team is responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying our business intelligence solutions across the enterprise. This goal will be achieved by working with cross-functional business teams and utilizing relevant development platforms (such as PowerBI). Analytics Engineer II is responsible for application creation, administrative tasks, and supporting dashboard and report solutions development.
The Analytics Engineer II will collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Project Managers, provide leadership regarding reporting and BI, as well as support and develop subject matter knowledge for reporting within the necessary solutions created.
The Analytics Engineer II will ensure the effective design, build, deployment, documentation and maintenance of reports against relational and multidimensional databases to support end-user processes.
Experience/ Requirements:
- Expertise/experience in data acquisition, data cleansing and parsing required.
- Expertise/experience in data analysis, modeling and visualization required
- Experience with a business intelligence platform (e.g., PowerBI, Qlik, MicroStrategy) required.
- SQL experience required; Teradata preferred, may substitute MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres, or other ANSI-extended SQL.
- Experience with a formal development language (e.g., Python, R, JavaScript, Ruby, Scala, or Clojure) required.
- Expertise/experience in the areas of data structures and data warehousing required.
- Experience using a distributed version control system (DVCS; e.g., GitHub, TFS) preferred.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment preferred.
- ETL experience preferred.

- Intermediate programming experience, preferably in a dynamic language such as Clojure, Python or R. Solid SQL development experience.
- Familiarity and understanding of the agile process.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Technical aptitude to learn and adapt to new industry applications and tools.

Educational Requirements & Technical Experience:
- Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience.
