Salary

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $170,000 - $720,000.

Our team partners with Product and Engineering teams to identify, incubate, and enable product innovation through scalable datasets, frameworks, and tooling. Our end goal is to drive higher-quality viewing and discovery experiences, no matter where, how, and when global members are watching.

As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of using analytics and data engineering skills on big data while working with product, technology, and business teams. In this role, you will develop and maintain data pipelines, tooling, and visualizations that make insights about our subscribers widely available across the company. You’ll build these data products in partnership with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, designers, analysts, and scientists.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, tooling, and visualizations that make member insights widely available across the company
  • Identify, compute, and validate the appropriate data sources and metrics to measure success in a product area
  • Partner with data engineers to design and implement a data architecture that bridges across experimentation, analytics, and operational reporting
  • Partner with product managers and engineering to conduct forensic investigations into logging, including real-time monitoring of new features the team is launching to support live events
  • Proactively explore trends in member engagement to surface future opportunities
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Coach partners to self-serve with existing tools, and evangelize for scaled approaches to expand data access and insights beyond our team

We are looking for:

  • Passion for using data to see Netflix from the eyes of our members
  • Exceptional communication with technical and non-technical audiences; highly effective at developing meaningful stakeholder relationships and deep domain expertise
  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to thrive with minimal oversight and process
  • Highly fluent in SQL for working with big data
  • Proficient with scripting languages such as Python; familiarity with Scala is a plus
  • Experienced in engineering data pipelines and orchestrating workflows
  • Passion for exploring and improving technical datasets and logging
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices (e.g. source control, code reviews, unit testing)
