As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll leverage platform tools and craft code to transform large volumes of clinical data into analysis-ready datasets for use in our products, services, and operations. The ideal candidate is a smart, creative, and curious analytical thinker who demonstrates strong data modeling skills and an aptitude for clinical data analysis. This is a key role within our cross-functional team, with responsibility for driving our high standards and further enriching our products and services.
What You'll Do at OM1
- Develop robust analytical models that empower the analysis of our clinical data assets, aid our researchers in generating insights from the data, and provide value in our products and services.
- Leverage a suite of tools to craft high-quality, well-tested production code that builds, maintains, and utilizes data models across our modern data stack.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to ensure correctness, clinical validity, and analytical usefulness of data models
- Drive the utilization, visualization, and understanding of our data assets and data models throughout the business.
- Support the documentation, discoverability, and governance of our data assets and data initiatives.
- Design and author technical specifications that will capture key business requirements and transform them into functional data assets.
- Aid in administering our data platforms and tooling.
What Experience You'll Bring
- 1-2 years minimum of Analytics Engineering experience or 4-5 years minimum of analyst experience with a focus on technical tooling and model development.
- Experience analyzing or modeling healthcare data.
- Excellent data analysis and modeling skills using tools such as SQL, DBT, Python, Databricks, or other analytics frameworks
- Strong relational database knowledge with Snowflake, SQL Server, or similar
- Proficiency building data applications and visualizing data in Power BI or expertise in a similar tool such as Tableau, Superset, Streamlit, or Hex.
- Familiarity with tooling throughout the ELT process, such as Airbyte, FiveTran, Snowpipe, DBT, PowerQuery, Airflow, etc.
- Understanding of data modeling principles and professional experience developing data models.
- Comfort working in an agile development environment
- Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality
- Great collaboration skills, especially with clinical experts and SMEs
What's Nice to Have
- Proficiency with modeling and querying frameworks such as DAX/Vertipaq, LookML, Cube, MetricFlow, etc, are a plus.
- Domain knowledge from hands-on experience in a healthcare or clinical business setting or degree in a clinical or life sciences discipline.
- Experience working in and understanding database principles of modern cloud environments like Snowflake.
- Experience developing analytical assets used in products or software applications.
