Analytics Engineering Manager

As the Analytics Engineering Manager, you'll drive the vision for our data warehouse and analytics layer, setting us up to scale in both the number of players and internal users. You’ll manage our growing AE team, mentoring and building out best practices, and encouraging a culture of learning. You’ll partner with leads across the company to ensure we have the right level of visibility into our business and drive the broader architectural vision for the warehouse and associated data processes at Rec Room.
What you'll do:
- Manage our growing team of Analytics Engineers, with a focus on hiring and scaling the team.
- Partner with PMs, designers, engineers, and data scientists to define a data vision that will support our many uses, including analyses, experimentation, machine learning, and feeding data back into the product.
- Architect the data warehouse modeling layer and establish the patterns and processes which will serve as the foundation for scaling our data.
- Become an expert in our stack, which includes prefect, Fivetran, dbt, Rudderstack, databricks, among others. Drive the vision for unifying these tools into a single seamless warehouse.
- Identify gaps in our data collection processes and collaborate with product and engineering to iterate and improve current methodologies.
- Design and implement top-level company dashboards to serve as the source of truth for company performance.
- Build out experimentation datasets and pipelines to allow for granular analysis of A/B tests.
- Partner with ML teams to build out data models to be used in model deployment
- Work with partner teams to build datasets that will impact production, such as creator and player statistics.
- Build out systems to evaluate ML model performance.
We are looking for individuals with:
- 5+ years of analytics experience, with substantial experience as an analytics engineer
- Have a high level of proficiency in SQL (aggregate functions, window functions, complex joins, CTE), including query optimization skills
- 2+ years experience managing Data Engineers or Analytics Engineers
- Experience working at a product company and partnering closely with DS
- Experience with Python or R is a plus
Company info to know:
The base pay range for this position is $138,750 - $231,250 per year; however, the base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, location, skills, and experience. Stock options and, in some cases, a sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package.
