Returning to work after a career break can be an important step in your career journey and understand that life at times requires you to take a break. Perhaps it’s been to raise children, care for a loved one, continue your education. Whatever the personal reason may be, the S&P Global Returnship Program provides an opportunity for experienced professionals who have taken a career break (of at least 18 months) to re-engage and return to the workforce through a paid six month returnship program. We’ve designed the program to provide you with you the resources and on-the-job training you need to transition back to the workforce.  Upon successful completion of the returnship program, participants will have the opportunity to apply for open, full-time positions within the organization. Candidates for this program should have at least 5 years of previous work experience.

The Team: The Ratings Technology Business Intelligence Platforms team is responsible for the development, platform support, and expert services for the Ratings Business Intelligence Ecosystem:  Power BI, MicroStrategy, QLIK, and Tableau supporting 3k+ users globally.  The team leverages data to provide actionable insights to solve business needs for the firm.

The Impact: We are looking for a seasoned Business Intelligence(BI) professional that is data-centric looking to make an impact on day 01 solving business problems leveraging our data and the firm’s Business Intelligence and Analytics technology stack (Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau and QLIK).  We are looking for someone with a passion for data with a vision for growth and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to collaborate with business and technology teams to create practical, robust and scalable architectures and solutions meeting the business and technology goals/strategy of the organization
  • Demonstrable development experience with a Business Intelligence Platform such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, QLIK and/or Tableau.
  • Understands data and query profiling and optimization techniques
  • Effective communication (verbal, written) skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization effectively
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks of varying size and complexity concurrently
  • Experience working in Agile environment both process and tooling perspective (SAFe is a plus).

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields
  • Ability to collaborate with business and technology teams to create practical, robust and scalable architectures and solutions meeting the business and technology goals/strategy of the organization
  • Demonstrable development experience with a Business Intelligence Platform such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, QLIK and/or Tableau.
  • Understands data modeling and data schemas supporting OLTP and OLAP use cases.
  • Understands data and query profiling and optimization techniques

3 Soft Skills

  • Effective communication (verbal, written) skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization effectively
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks of varying size and complexity concurrently
  • Experience working in Agile environment both process and tooling perspective (SAFe is a plus).

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates): $55.00 per hour. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
