Senior Analytics Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer who brings exceptional technical skills to manage and build our growing data pipeline and analytics infrastructure. You will be responsible for monitoring data uptime and architecting efficient solutions for the scalability of our competitive data set, driving value for both internal stakeholders and the customers that we serve. Your work will directly impact our company’s ability to make informed decisions and better product features.
You will partner with teams such as Data Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Analytics (product analysts) to drive data solutions. This is a highly technical role, however it also requires the strategic acumen to develop a technical roadmap and self-lead on projects. This role can be based out of the Washington, DC metropolitan area or can be remote, anywhere in the US.
What You Will Do:
- Own ETL monitoring and work cross functionally with data engineers and analysts to triage and resolve issues.
- Define and manage SLAs for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership.
- Conceptualize and own the data architecture for the intermediate models on which our data analysts will build their data marts, acknowledging multiple uses cases across the company.
- Optimize pipelines and processes to reduce runtime and deliver faster and easier development of data artifacts.
- Develop anomaly detection and testing to better deliver reliable data.
- Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact.
- Create documentation surrounding the data that we use and collaborate with data analysts to drive adoption of documentation processes.
What You Bring to the Table:
Required
- 5+ years of experience in a analytics engineering role, including owning and maintaining ETL processes.
- Strong technical skills, including expert knowledge of SQL, dbt, and git.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple demands and projects.
- Strong business acumen to drive thoughtful data architecture and scalability.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture concepts, such as data lakes and data warehousings.
Preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Comfortable with self directed work.
- Experience with automated ETL platforms like Fivetran, spark/pyspark, databricks, and snowflake.
- Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees in a cooperative and friendly manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
The annual base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $160,000.
