Analytics Engineer
Job Requirements
Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments is seeking to hire an Analytics Engineer. This role will partner with data engineers, data scientists, business intelligence developers, and other stakeholders to build and maintain our analytic data architecture, which is informed by business strategies and technical data knowledge.
This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in. What you’ll do
- Transform data loaded into the data warehouse by the data engineering team
- Enable various analytics use cases by creating and maintaining data models & pipelines enriched with institutional and departmental knowledge
- Connect the dots between business needs & objectives and available data making it easy and efficient for end users to consume the data
- Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code, including version control, testing, and continuous integration
- Maintain data documentation & definitions
- Train users on data availability and structure
- Monitor overall health of the analytic data platform, avoid redundancy, identify data gaps, etc.
What you'll need to succeed
- An ideal candidate will have technical competence balanced by an empathetic understanding of business needs
- Multiple years of experience in data design and ETL
- SQL knowledge is critical
- Proficiency with dbt and other modern data stack tools
- Cloud computing background (preferably Google)
- Python/R knowledge is desired
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Solid organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects easily while meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated business expertise across multiple business functions
- Strong communication skills with an ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to handle sensitive data in a confidential manner
