Director of Analytics Engineering (Coordinated Campaign)
Salary
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Democratic National Committee is seeking an Analytics Engineering Director, based in Wilmington, DE, to join the Analytics team. This role manages and guides our analytics infrastructure and database, and leads development, automation, and engineering in support of the analytics team. This person will work collaboratively with the Tech and Analytics teams to implement and execute the program in support of the Biden Campaign and other Democrats. We are looking for individuals with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America. This role reports to the Deputy Chief Analytics Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of engineers to oversee the infrastructure, database, and engineering priorities of the broader analytics team.
- Develop short- and long-term engineering priorities in support of the analytics roadmap, including analytics stakeholders in data science, states analytics, paid media, and fundraising analytics.
- Design and oversee structures for effective data movement between databases and multiple data sources and tools.
- Build systems to ensure database reliability, security, and performance. Help analysts and other users optimize pipelines and code.
- Assist and advise the analytics team in data acquisition and processing.
- Serve as the point of contact between the Tech, Analytics, and Engineering teams by coordinating on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience as a data engineer, engineering focused analyst, database administrator, or engineering manager.
- 6+ years using SQL, Python, and other scripting languages professionally.
- Experience managing a technical team.
- Experience deploying data pipelines.
- Professional familiarity with analytical methods and predictive analysis, and experience working directly with data scientists and analysts.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, communicate goals, and build consensus to work effectively within and across departments.
- A track record of prioritizing projects with the ability to be both self-directed and to delegate tasks to others.
- A desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and implement creative solutions to unique problems.
Additional Useful Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience using dbt
- GCP experience (in particular, BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage)
- Experience administering pipeline orchestration tools, such as Airflow
- Experience volunteering or working on a political campaign data team
