You’ll  be responsible for ingesting new data sources, creating data models, and otherwise building, maintaining, and optimizing the capabilities of our data processing systems and analytical pipelines.

If you’re excited about building new systems in a fast-paced environment and using your data chops to revolutionize our country’s infrastructure, we want you on our team!

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You are a true believer in the social, economic, and environmental benefits of bringing intelligent infrastructure to communities across the country

What you'd be doing:

  • Lead the evolution of our data & analytics engineering architecture
  • Create and maintain data pipelines, data models, and other data processes - we use Fivetran, Airflow, dbt core,  Redshift, and Metabase
  • Assist the data science team in standardizing & scaling data pipelines and creating databases, and otherwise guide adoption of data engineering best practices
  • Identify opportunities to prototype new data methods, tools, and approaches that create value and otherwise address company needs

Experience we require:

  • 3-5+ years experience in data engineering
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, particularly data-related Python packages
  • Experience working with the modern data stack - ideally Fivetran, Airflow, dbt core, and Redshift, but experience with similar tools is sufficient
  • Track record of owning data engineering projects end to end— from sourcing and transforming data through modeling and delivering data products in production
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Familiarity with Docker
  • Experience developing applications for Linux
  • Working knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git

Bonus points:

  • Experience at an early stage startup
