Analytics Engineer
Do you love seeing your dbt model tests get green check marks one after the other? Do you build Snowpipes like others tie their shoelaces? Does the modern data stack have no secret for you anymore? Then you might very well be well suited to become our very first Analytics Engineer! We need somebody to come join us and help us build, almost from scratch, a highly scalable data stack to grow our customer and user bases 10x. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to design, develop, and maintain all our data pipelines to ensure our data is accurate, reliable, and easily accessible for business intelligence and analytics. You will also manage costs and optimize our use of compute and storage infrastructure to ensure we operate efficiently.
What you’ll do
- Write, maintain, and properly document dbt sources, models, and exposures
- Design and implement data pipelines using Fivetran, Snowflake and Bigquery, but also custom approaches as required
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Optimize and improve the performance of our data pipeline and improve models
- Provide data access and insights to support the data needs of various business units
- Continuously monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues
- Continuously improve skills in data engineering and analytics
- Manage analytics-related compute and storage costs
What you bring
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a SaaS company
- A bachelor’s degree in an analytical/quantitative field
- Strong understanding of SQL
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with ETL tools like Fivetran
- Familiarity with data platforms like Snowflake and Bigquery
- Familiarity with dbt
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Bonus: experience in Python or any other programming language
