We are part of Legal and Compliance, focused on Transfer of Value reporting and State Law Compliance. We use automation and analytics to move fast, solve problems creatively, and own our solutions end-to-end. If you'd rather ship something that changes how the business operates than wait for a roadmap slot, and you're equally at home writing C# and building a Power BI dashboard, this is your seat.
This is a true hybrid role. You'll spend roughly half your time as an analyst — partnering with business leaders, framing questions, deriving insights — and half as a developer, building and maintaining the C#, SQL Server, and Power BI assets that make those insights repeatable. We're not looking for someone strong in one and curious about the other. We need both.
This is a senior individual contributor role. You won't have direct reports, but you'll set technical direction, lead delivery on larger initiatives, and work across the organization to drive results.
Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
Build and maintain the data foundation:
- Own and evolve our SQL Server environment, with schema and asset changes scripted, version-controlled, and archived
- Build automated pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from internal and external sources
- Drive data quality initiatives so analyses can be trusted and re-run
Build the tools that scale the work:
- Translate business requirements into functional applications using C#, Python, and Power BI
- Design and maintain reusable, reliable C# code within our existing framework
- Identify performance bottlenecks and devise solutions
- Apply automation, AI, and RPA approaches wherever they reduce manual effort
Conduct analyses that drive action:
- Partner with compliance and business leaders to frame monitoring questions, build reporting frameworks, and surface insights
- Translate ambiguous business problems into concrete analytic approaches and deliverables
- Mentor peers on analytic methods and best practices
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- 4+ years applying analytics, business intelligence, or statistics in a compliance, sales operations, or regulated-industry context
- 3+ years building applications in C#
- 3+ years working with SQL Server (or comparable relational databases), including writing performant queries against large datasets
- 2+ years building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Within commuting distance of Durham, NC or Philadelphia, PA (2–3 days onsite per week)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with ETL tooling, API integrations, and data warehouse concepts
- Experience applying AI/LLM tools or RPA platforms to analytics workflows
- Critical-thinking habit — comfortable challenging conventional wisdom constructively
- Experience collaborating with other developers, designers, and architects
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, set technical direction, and deliver with minimal supervision
Working model
This role is hybrid. You will combine remote work with in-office collaboration at a GSK United States location. Exact onsite cadence will be agreed with your hiring manager.
What you'll value
- Strong ownership and accountability for data quality and delivery.
- Practical problem solving with a focus on simple, maintainable solutions.
- Empathy and collaboration when working with non-technical partners.
- Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset to improve systems and skills.
- Commitment to building an inclusive environment where all voices are heard.
