We are looking for a talented analytics engineer to support the management and distribution of our Live content and other new formats on service. You will partner with our world-class teams of content metadata and merchandising practitioners and various cross-functional teams to shape strategy and deliver impact via analytical solutions.

What you will do

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders in Product Discovery & Promotion to learn deeply about content distribution, metadata & merchandising
  • Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to identify impactful problems to solve via scalable analytics solutions
  • Lead the development of new metrics, innovative analyses, and insightful dashboards that impact decision-making across Product Discovery & Promotion in regards to these strategic initiatives, as well as connect them to the broader Netflix measurement ecosystem
  • Collaborate with data engineers to source data from new systems and strengthen our foundational data models
  • Serve as a key thought partner for stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and our diverse set of team members regarding analytical methods

Your background and characteristics

  • BS or MS degree in a quantitative or computational field
  • 4+ years of full-time work experience in one or more relevant analytical roles
  • An expert in a data-oriented programming language (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Scala) and intuitive dashboard/visualization design (e.g., Tableau)
  • Proficient in ETL and data warehousing best practices and core statistical concepts (e.g., estimation, hypothesis testing)
  • Comfortable and effective in ambiguous problem spaces; ability to own and drive projects with minimal oversight and process; connect the dots across business needs and independently drive projects forward
  • A strong communicator—both written and oral—who can develop and deepen strong relationships with a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders; experience partnering closely with executive leadership, with a proven track record of influencing strategic decisions through data
  • Enthusiasm about and compatibility with Netflix culture
