As a pivotal member of our Business Operations Team, the Senior Analytics Engineer will own and scale our reporting infrastructure across Redshift, dbt, and Tableau. You'll transform raw data into reliable, well-modeled datasets and deliver actionable insights that support leadership and operational decision-making across the organization. Your role will be instrumental in building a trusted, scalable, and high-performing reporting ecosystem by developing data models, optimizing reporting performance, and improving how data is accessed and utilized company-wide. This role is ideal for a highly skilled SQL expert who thrives at the intersection of data engineering and analytics and enjoys solving complex data challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What you'll do
- Develop and maintain scalable data models using dbt within a Redshift environment.
- Write complex, high-performance SQL queries to transform, analyze, and validate large datasets.
- Own and optimize the Tableau reporting layer, including dashboard development, data source management, and performance tuning.
- Partner cross-functionally with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business questions into actionable data solutions.
- Build reusable, well-documented datasets and reporting assets that support scalable self-service analytics.
- Monitor and improve data quality, integrity, and consistency across multiple data sources.
- Optimize Redshift query performance and support cost-efficient data operations.
- Deliver both recurring operational reporting and high-priority ad hoc analyses to support business decision-making.
Your experience and qualifications
- Experience: Two to five (2–5) years in roles such as Senior Analytics Engineer, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or similar data-focused roles, preferably within healthcare and/or venture-backed startup environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of advanced SQL experience required.
- Hands-on experience with dbt, including data modeling, testing, and documentation.
- Strong experience working with Amazon Redshift or similar columnar data warehouse technologies.
- Proven track record building, scaling, and optimizing Tableau dashboards and data sources.
- Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schemas and fact/dimension tables.
- Ability to work with complex, messy, or incomplete datasets and transform them into structured, reliable reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- High level of ownership and accountability with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Preferred
- Experience working with healthcare, value-based care, or claims/clinical datasets.
- Familiarity with ELT workflows and data orchestration tools.
- Experience using Python for data analysis, automation, or data engineering tasks.
